Masonry Repair - Patching Or Replacement?

Over time, masonry may crack and deteriorated, leading to loose bricks, hollow brick or brick, and unsightly, crumbling bricks. As bad as it may seem, not all cases of deterioration requires masonry restoration. In some cases, the patches of the masonry can be sufficient to restore the beauty and durability of the structure.

Cracked and broken masonry is not only wrong, but can affect the integrity of the masonry structure. Depending on the level of deterioration, the crumbling brick or block may allow moisture or leaks in the structure itself. Furthermore, once the deterioration of this nature begins often spreads rapidly. If ignored, can lead to the need to remove and replace entire sections of masonry, which is much more expensive.

Patches that works best for your project when the deteriorated brick or block just getting started, and the section or sections of masonry restoration they need are limited. However, if a large part of the masonry crumbling, it may be necessary
have the brick or block removed and replaced by the true restoration and durability.

If patches is not performed in the early stages of decay, completely masonry large voids may crumble and may occur, causing leakage and other problems with the structure. If a general deterioration of the brick, block or tile, you will need to undertake further restoration. Sections of masonry may need to be removed and replaced in its entirety, rather than just patches. This can be much more expensive than the patches, but worth saving masonry structures.
